People who live life
openhanded are considered generous people. They are people who willingly give
of their time, talents and resources. In former years
generous referred to people who were highborn. Highborn meaning they
had been born of noble birth. Indicating that they had more than
most therefore enabling them to be generous.
God calls followers of
Jesus Christ to be generous people - to live life openhanded.
Command them to do good,
to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. 1 Timothy 6:18
Think about it. Who is higher
born than a follower of Jesus Christ? Who has more to give than we do? After
all our Father owns it all!
Thank You! people of Atlee
Community Church for being so generous. I am so proud to
pastor a church of such generous people. These are the donations that have
come in just today for the homeless and just in time for the cold weather.
2012 is going to be another great year filled with opportunities for us, the church, to make a difference in our community. Remember as followers of Jesus Christ - generous is not what we do, its who we are!
