This statement and question was asked in the devotional guide I am using...
"We are prone to dwell on our own weaknesses and shortcomings. But if someone were to really look inside, what evidence of God's work would they see in you?"
As I thought about that question one word immediately came to mind - CONFIDENCE. If people could really see deep with in me they would see two things.
1. That I have always struggled with self-confidence.
2. They would see the confidence that God has given me - not so much in myself but in Him.
Here are a couple of verses that God has used to given me such confidence.
I can do everything through him who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13
Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:16
Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:19 -23
If others could really look inside me thats what they would find. Someone who God continues to transform by proving Himself faithful.
But what about you what would others see inside you?
So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. Hebrews 10:35
